Applying procedures For Stem Cells Transplant Through KMDP

01 Formal Matching

To provide physician with donors HLA typing and its matching result for further HLA allele matching process.

Application Requirements: Application either from the registry or physician of the transplant center once the patient and physician confirmed to proceed the unrelated stem cells transplantation.

Application Document Application Methods: Please fax or email 'Patients Preliminary Search Request form' to KMDP office.
02 Initiating Donors Matchting Process - request for coordination (CT stage)

Contact the donor and ensure donors willingness on donation.

Application Requirements: Application either from the registry or the doctor of the transplant center once the patient and his doctor confirmed to proceed the unrelated stem cells transplantation,

Up to 5 donors at the same time can proceed for one patient.(to ship the blood samples to TC by FedEx or test in our lab)

The donor who performed CT can be hold for 90days for the patient.

03 Donors Health Check-Up Procedure(Work up stage)

After receiving donorsCT, if the physician decided to choose this donor for stem cell donation, then the donor must be arranged for a health check-up in order to ensure the donor is in a good condition.

Application Methods: Please fax or email 'Work-up request form' to KMDP office. (recommendation: to provide HLA-A-B-C, DRB1, DQB1 high resolution report)

04 Procedure of collecting donors stem cells

Collection donors stem cells for transplant to the patient.

Korea Marrow Donor Program Standards Bone Marrow: The body weight is based on the lighter of weight of the donor or the bone marrow recipient. The target quantity shall be at least more than 2.0*10^8 nucleated cells per kilogram of the patient's weight. The collection center shall not collect any bone marrow that exceeds 20mLs per kilogram of the donor's weight. The total amount of collection shall not exceed 1500mLs. PBSC: Recipients body weight (kg) 5*10^6 is the standard for requesting PBSC CD34+ cells count. (G-CSF injection - 10ug/kg/day)
